Today I got a message from one of my FC leaders asking me to try out a game he and a friend made I’d have to download it to try it out 🚨. I tried looking in some of the channels on his server and I couldn’t find any mention of this game. But I said, “Sure” because that wasn’t exactly proof something was amiss.
He sent me a link to a Blogger site where I could see info about the game and download it. I was a little surprised at the quality of the screenshots (pretty good for a first-timer) 🚨. I clicked download and it was surprisingly small 🚨. I wondered to myself if maybe it was just a video of someone playing then?
When I went to open the file it was a .rar file and I don’t have WinRAR on my laptop, nor do I want it. So I decided I wasn’t going to do anything with it. If I had to avoid my FC leader for the rest of eternity, that’s what I was going to have to do.
Moment’s later, the FC leader’s wife posted a message in the FC discord server that her husband’s account was hacked. Immediately after he messaged me asking me if I installed it. I said, “Yep” and he said, “Lier.” I’ve now been kicked out of the discord server.
One other small 🚨 I noticed had to do with “netspeak”. He messaged me saying things like “hru” and when I told him I wasn’t going to install WinRAR he said, “wdym” – both of which are abnormal for a person 30+ on the internet.
